Giving, by Design
Avelamer is shaped by Sausalito and San Francisco Bay, and that means the working harbor as much as the water: the boatyards, the marine trades, and the people whose hands keep boats on the Bay. That harbor is part of why the brand looks the way it does.
We think of stewardship as a practice, not a line added later. So we began early, quietly, and close to home, with the craft and the place Avelamer comes from.
Who we support
Spaulding Marine Center
Spaulding Marine Center is a nonprofit boatyard and maritime school on the Sausalito waterfront. Alongside its working yard, it runs Boatworks 101, a paid apprenticeship that trains young adults in the marine trades, and it restores historic wooden vessels of San Francisco Bay.
We direct our support to the Boatworks 101 apprenticeship, where they learn to build and repair boats, keeping the craft alive on the same waterfront that shaped Avelamer.

Why we give this way
We chose to begin giving early, at small scale, to build a practice grounded in responsibility rather than promotion. Our focus is on supporting credible, mission-driven work, giving transparently, and keeping our commitments close to where the brand actually comes from.
Looking ahead
Our giving is now focused on the working waterfront of San Francisco Bay. We intend to support it steadily, as a standing commitment given in two parts across the year rather than a single gift, and to scale it thoughtfully as Avelamer grows.
