One windy summer day on San Francisco Bay, my favorite blue cap flew off into the water. When I looked for a replacement, nothing felt right. Everything I found was either loud and over-branded or leaned too traditional. That moment sparked Avelamer, creating coastal apparel that is premium, understated, and built for real life on and around the water. More than just apparel, it’s an invitation to belong and feel at home on the water.
Born on the Bay
Avelamer (ah-veh-lah-mair) comes from the Breton word Avel (wind) and French La Mer (the sea). The name reflects our Sausalito, California roots, where fog rolls over the hills and sailboats venture out into San Francisco Bay and beyond. That coastal sailing vibe is effortless, adventurous, and always in motion, and it fuels everything we create.
